RESSACA DE CARNAVAL: THIS UPCOMING WEEKEND we have our Post Carnaval Fest!!
February 16 & 17, at the new Boulder venue, The Full Cycle Cafe & Bar is hosting a weekend Ginga Post Carnaval Fest with Colorado’s premier Brazilian band specializing in playing the traditional music of Brazil.
“The common thread that connects us with our fans, our community and each other is an intense love and passion for Brazilian music.”
This is a very rare opportunity to hear Ginga in Boulder playing 2 nights of music with 2 distinct shows:
Friday Night- our Classic Ginga Band: beautiful MPB/samba/Bossa Nova and a lot of Forró!
Saturday Night- our “Roda de Samba” or “Samba Circle”- Pagode night with Ginga and friends. This is performed with musicians sitting in a circle around a few tables with folks and fans joining in- singing, dancing and celebrating the end of the Carnaval Season!
Cultivated in Boulder, and comprised of some of the best jazz, classical and salsa musicians on the Front Range, Ginga is THE powerhouse Brazilian band in Colorado. They can bring an audience to a quiet purr with a sultry Bossa Nova or blow the roof off the evening with a full blown Carnaval style samba dance party. Featuring Francisco Marques (cavaquinho, bass, percussion, vocals), Greg LaLiberte (flute, saxophones, percussion, vocals), Bill Kopper (acoustic 6 & 7 string guitars, electric guitar, vocals), Raoul Rossiter (drums, percussion, vocals), Vincent Gonzalez (percussion, vocals) and Bill McCrossen (bass).
Whether it’s the magnetizing pulse of a samba groove, the alluring dancing that accompanies or the sheer joy that is infused at every show, Ginga specializes in bringing people together to have a good time.
“Buy your tickets in advance, come early, get your seat and enjoy our new Tapas menu from our Spanish Chef Antonio Romo with Brazil’s national drink, the Caipirinha, Craft Cocktails, Beer and Wine”
